You've never heard that imitation is the highest form of flattery? "White people" wearing their hair in dreads or braids seems pretty much the opposite of them telling "black people" their hair looks ugly, dirty, nappy, etc., don't you think?

I agree. Adopting is accepting. If someone adopts a hairstyle for themself, they obviously don't think ill of it. They're endorsing it.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
