I have a question, IF the earth was not 6000ish years old and the textus receptus was not the best codex from which to translate the bible, would your faith stand or fall? Could you still be a christian if these absolutes were absolutely wrong?
If so (you could remain a christian if your primary source material was wrong) why only entertain questions from those sources/vantage points?
If not (you could not maintain your 'faith' if your source material were wrong) then how is it your believe you are worshiping God, and not an idol (or version of Christianity) you have made with the members of your nondenominational church?
No disrespect intended. I have found in my time here as well as my out reach to other atheists on other websites if you give absolutes or narrowly define what you believe, then you make their first job (make you question your faith) too easy if infact you have already asked yourself those questions.
If you are not comfortable asking yourself the types of questions I posted above, then maybe you should start on a christian forum and speak to the atheists who have question there first. (that's what i did for 5 years before comming to an unregulated site like this one.) If you have a logical mind and have not already explored your own faith to it's foundations and shook them hard, they will for you, and they will show you truth that if your not ready for can destroy everything you think you know about faith and about God. Now if you are a blind faith type and your not into evidence then you should be just fine.
For what it's worth Good luck and remember to question all things and to hold on to what is good.
