And what makes you think that excessive Defense spending hasn't already ground the country to a halt?
It doesn't need to defend its own people... it only needs to ensure that a relatively small amount of damage is inflicted upon its infrastructure by its people.As for why I don't think that our country has groun to a halt: I can still go to the market and buy food without worrying about rations and bread lines, and the united states dollar is worth more than most currencies
