I consider European Jews white, personally. "Jewish" is an ethnicity and a culture, not a race. I think you can have "Jewish ancestry" of course, since they have been historically isolated from other Europeans, but it's still white ancestry with a different name. A Jew can move through society as a white person very easily when they're not dressed traditionally.
To me saying "Jewish is a race" is like saying "Hispanic", "Irish" or "Italian" is a race. These are ethnicities or nationalities and cultures, not races.
