Given how painful and protracted lethal injections can be, and the high incidence of innocent people being sentenced to death, the only reason why the death penalty is on the books is a wilful misinterpretation of the law like with gun "rights" and citizens united.
Lethal injection is a cruel punishment, all forms of the death penaly are, and should be abolishe under US law.
Death row alone is cruel punishment if you ask me...
