domnavarra thats sounds like a not so common sleep disorder called hallucinatory sleep paralysis.Granted you were not paralyzed with fear since most of those experiences are usually categorized as vivid nightmares.But at the same time the reverse can be true you can have a pleasant dream and then wake up and still be filled with the pleasant feelings associated with that dream.
I know about the hullicinatory sleep disorder because I suffer from it during and after I left the ministry.I still have vivid dreams and nightmares where I seem to be in an altered state between sleep and wakefulness.Anyway,that is my take on your experience.
