The only thing that makes me hesitate is the prospect, however uncommon, of wrongful conviction. It's the same, and only, reason I oppose the death penalty. You can always let an innocent person out of prison but you can't give them back their life (or their balls).
I think a 20 year minimum sentence is in order, though. Rape should be thought of as the most evil crime. Even premeditated murder can possibly be morally mitigated in some extreme cases. There are no conditions where rape is ever justifiable.
