I had a muslim roomate for a short while in college and he said that his religion teaches that very few people go to hell and that hell is reserved for only a select few.
This of course would seem to HAVE to be the case since muslims condone a lot of uber-harsh punishments on disrespectful wives and you can't have ALL your men going to hell for a simple "well-deserved" stoning.
