As an atheist I do not think there is an afterlife. I think we have a physical life and then we die and stay dead for ever. There is
no evidence to suggest anything else. This is therefore the default position. Last year I overcame my fear of death by accepting
it. After all it is inevitable so denying it would be irrational and I realised that it is irrational to fear death as one can not actually
experience it. And if it is an eternity of pain free non consciousness then just thinking that about it should not be irrational. And
I can think of nothing worse than immortality. For I want a long life not an infinite one. So with no fear of death I am as free as
I have ever been. It can take me when ever it wants. I obviously want to go as quickly and painlessly as possible but even if my
passing is slow and painful it shall be temporary. How long I have left is academic. For I am only passing through like we all are
