No. I don't need any kind of punishment system to be moral. I want to be moral.
Prison is there to protect people, primarily. If the only reason you're not doing something is that you'll go to prison, then you're not moral. You're just being pragmatic. The same can be said about religious motivations, if they are the only reason. I wouldn't expect this to actually be the case for the majority of theists.
