When I lived in the 140,000 population...that's a fairly small city so I've just never lived anywhere big enough to be afraid in my own home or to be afraid to walk the streets at night. Yea...I use common sense. There are places I won't go wondering around in the dark, but mostly I don't think I need to have any protection.
I'm just talking about protection in my house by the way. It is extremely illegal to carry offensive weapons out in public in the UK. It's an automatic five, sometimes more prison sentence for carrying knives out in public and the same for guns. Guns are illegal in pretty much all circumstances here though, so the same applies for having them in your house too.
My area is decent enough, not much crime happens here etc but you never know. And that's why it's good to protect your house. You Americans are fortunate that you guys can carry knives and guns in public though.
For now >.> Our 2nd amendment of the constitution protects that right but with all the dang people scared of them I worry that in my lifetime we will lose that right or it will be severely hurt. Well I shouldn't say that since Texas did just take a step forward and give us open carry...
