I'm going to give a scenario and you tell me why those who commit adultery should go unpunished:
You have a man who is married to his wife for 20 years and they have 3 young kids
Now this man is attracted to a young single 25 year-old and decides to sleep with her. They both live in a nation with Islamic laws and they both claim to be "muslim".
This man finds it convenient to not divorce his wife, or not marry the young 25 year-old he is attracted to. He just want to sleep with her temporary and never see the 25-year old again and do all this behind his wife and kids.
Then to add insult-to-injury, they have live sex in front of FOUR or more people.
And then four of these people have a change of heart and claim adultery has committed.
-------
Now under Islamic law, the authorities do a DNA test to verify the four witnesses...
then the man is sentenced to stoning and the young 25 year-old gets a couple lashings and jail time
------
Now lets say there is no such law, ...instead the man and the 25 year-old are banned from the community. They go on living in another town and will never see their friends/family ever again.......
Now how will the family feel? The affected wife will struggle financially, and the kids will have a painful upbringing.
Those 3 young kids will no doubt have a chip on their shoulder once they become adults. They will stir trouble in the community. Vandalize/rob homes and businesses.
They will blame the community for how their life turned out. They will claim that no one cares how they feel being raised fatherless and in financial hardship. They will justify every crime as vengeance against the community for not supporting them.
They would want to know why those 4 witnesses didn't do anything when the act occurred.
They will start blaming the religion for not doing anything about the whole situation.
Basically it creates trouble in such a tight-knitted community. A family is broken apart and no one has taken care of them emotionally.
Please explain to me why this is a better outcome? Who had a better outcome? The victims or those who committed the act. Please explain to me why this act should go unpunished.
What do you mean not harm anyone.........
I mentioned this over and over again
adultery is the act of two people having sex and atleast ONE OF THEM IS MARRIED
I.E. cheating on a spouse
if they are both married, they both get stoned (provided 4 witnesses watched the act live at the same exact location)
otherwise, the one that is married and cheated their spouse will get stoned (provided 4 witnesses watched the act live at the same exact location)
If two people want to have consensual casual sex, and neither are married then nothing is wrong provide they have some sort of marriage certificate. The reason for these certificate is to keep people in good terms in case the relationship goes the wrong way....
