No amount of gun control is going to stop terrorism. Terrorists don't need guns to commit mass murders. Timothy McVey proved that with simple hardware store chemicals. Terrorists across the world prove that almost daily with simple home made bombs. Besides, if they can't get the guns legally, they'll get them illegally, and gun control can't stop that either. Chicago has proven that too.
But we can make less and make them harder to get. Again, if getting stuck on motive with words like "terrorists" or "mentally ill" were the solution we would have had one by now. The problem lies outside political and religious motives and is rooted in greed.
