To an outsider, Ru, that religion looks like a barbaric cult which is real big on punishing women. That's not such a surprise.....it was invented by men.
Not gods.
Min, the problem is that the media will pay more attention when a female being punished...
Men are being punished much more than women, so when a women has death sentence it is shocking for everyone
Now for an outsider, I can understand, if you look at Muslim women wearing a veil you can question why they are forced to wear clothing like that. I think a muslim women can discuss this issue better than I can...
However, all I can say is that most Muslim women (just like Nuns) want to dress modestly in public as a way to show respect to the community.
If all women were free to wear what every they want, there will clearly be a competition to wear the most skimpy clothing to attract the most males. If you go to high schools all over America, you won't belive what kind of clothing the females are wearing. No wonder why the men are falling behind in education. How can they concentrate if the girls sitting in front of him are showing so much skin?
Today so many girls are complaining how men are stupid and are can't behave properly. Maybe it has something to do with the distracting environment they are in.
Secondly there are so many pregnant girls in these high-school, who are aborting their babies because it is most convenient thing they can do. If the baby does get born, they are now a single mom and have to either find a mate who will accept another male's baby or they will live the rest of their lives husband-less with a child who will later on either blame her or have a chip on his/her shoulder and take it out on the community. The emotional ride for girl to go through is not worth it.
Remember, this religion is to help have peace with yourself. It to protect you from all negative vibes in life.

The law is.... if you go cheating on your wife(husband)/kids and do it carelessly where 4 or more people witnessed the act. You'll get punished for this.
BTW, I don't know what kind of relationships you been in.... but most people want a relationship with certainty and openness. Cheating on your spouse should be the last thing to think about....... just know the consequences..... you can't be a COWERD and have the best of everything.
There are other options as far as this religion is concerned, like divorce, second marriage, ...etc.
I don't know if you ever lived in a tight-knitted community, where everyone helps everyone else, where kids grow in the presence of other kids, family party's on a monthly basis. Its different than the stubborn, very competitive environment of a large city like New York.
I didn't leave it out, you refused to comment on it in my first post in this topic.
And stop appealing to ad hominem judgements, whether or not I had any past relationships is irrelevant so stop bringing it up.
you said:
"Oh by the way, if you have sex with another guy during our marriage, I and the whole town will stone you to death like barbarians"
you left out the 4 witnesses in this quote
also if you don't want to discuss relationships, then don't bring up your GF as an example in these discussions
