Two people responding to their sexual urges in a consensual way may offend some people (in the case of adultery), but those two people do NOT deserve death, I don't care what you say. People can and DO change, relationships get repaired. It's disgusting that you would throw a young life in the trash because of temporary hurt feelings. Who the hell are you to say that 'community' and 'relationships' matter most in your religion?
Listen the punishment is there to DETER adultery......... in reality it should be near impossible to be handed out. Just like the electric chair is there to DETER homicides.
Those who can hand out such sentence, are not bloodthirsty and get high on power trips.
If someone commits a moral slip such as adultery, they are encouraged to not go and BOAST about it and LIE about it if your spouse asks. Anything to keep the family/marriage together.
Those who witnessed the act, live and can give every little detail are encouraged to keep quiet and don't go public about it. These encouragements all come from the prophet.
Typically when stoning occurs, it is the sinners who go A. either public about it and ask for the punishment as a means to REPENT or B. militant adulterers who commit live adultery in public and have NO REMORSE about it. ex. A man who has sex with another women in front of HIS OWN children.... no soul/remorse whatsoever.
When a trial is being taken (which is so RARE that not even a PORN STUDIO in saudi arabia would be put into trial), all 4 witness must give the same EXACT details, DNA test is to occur and then those who commited the act are ask if they want to plead not guilty due to insanity. The judge and jury are not bloodthirsty and waiting for you to slip, they give you every opportunity to avoid such sentence.
If you look at most of the modern religious countries, such a sentence has not occurred in the last couple of centuries.
