The moccasins we have here are not aggressive, but they are steadfast in defense. Working at the nature preserve, I saw scores of them, and modulated the interactions between thousands of visitors and the wildlife. Not one bite, or attempted bite.
A friend of mine who lives in Deland over by Daytona says that the moccasins he's seen are aggressive, too. It may be that Eastern mocs -- which is what y'all have -- are more aggressive than our Western mocs. Here, they're not an issue unless you give them trouble.
