Nevermind that. Couple of years ago, my grandfather got accused of not fighting the Nazis, gun in hand, instead of emmigrating to save his family. In a similar debate. I can't even imagine the level of ignorance behind that line of thinking.
Let me see if I am understanding you correctly. Your grandfather immigrated instead of staying and fighting? If I am right, so what? I hate male testosterone, not all men are cut out for the battlefield and just like any threat of violence, even in street crime, and rape, it isn't fight or flight as either or, but whatever got you to the point of survival is what worked. Blaming people fleeing war is sick, even today. If I got that wrong correct me.
