I'm going to explain what's being said in the simplest terms I can and expand on what Nymphadora is saying.

I can't speak for others, but from what I see the point of this thread is to not condemn people who do or do not eat pork. The point is citing two statements that contradict each other. Thus, only one statement can be true. This is the same reasoning lawyers go about questioning a witness. If there are obvious contradictions in what's being said then that usually suggests a problem with the person's story and it starts to unravel. Follow that train of thought and you can understand what's being asked.

Why'd he make an unnecessary law that wasn't needed back in Genesis and was then later scraped in the New Testament?

Was he mad at pigs, or something?

Just needed to ensure pigs would be around so his kid could infest them with demons before chasing them off a cliff.
