Me, the revulsion associated with spending years out of the only life I get in prison is enough to keep me on the straight and narrow..ish.
But what if an atheist used his superior intellect to figure out a way to avoid prison whilst doing all sorts of evil. A man with religion still has hell to worry about and may refrain from taking advantage of such a situation because of hell, but there is nothing to stop an atheist.
