Make him a priest. The alien impostor - who may be a true gnostic atheist - has to make sense of religion and perhaps create a new, improved version of spirituality and morality, based on alien knowledge and compatible with reason and facts - a way to create a better society and put an end to fear, hatred and prejudice, which he then imparts to his new flock...
And then the peasants bludgeon him to death with sticks...
