Whats wrong with having children being born out of wet-lock???

1. Child is born with a chip on their shoulder. Some of them become orphaned. Do you know how this affects a child's behavior when reach adulthood?

It is wedlock, no t and no hyphen. Don't be daft. Babies can't have chips on their shoulders. Furthermore, I do know how being "illegitimate" affects a child's behavior when they reach adulthood. The answer is that it affects them not at all. These children may very well have both parents raising them in the same home. They are simply not married. What affects children are shitty, abusive parents who don't know how to deal with having children. That can happen no matter what their parents' marital status.

2. Mom has to try and find another man to help support HER child. Typically they go for a man who would uses her in the short term.

That was an insanely sexist and biased remark. I forgive you, but only because you obviously live in a world where women can't work. In the western societies you so despise, women can raise their own children. Furthermore, and this is a big furthermore, children born out of wedlock are not always raised by just their mothers or even one parent. They may also go on to be adopted by a man or woman who loves them. You have no idea what you are talking about.

3. Mom has to work more hours now or go on welfare (which is a burden on society).

See above. Oh, and I know a woman who is raising three children and going to med school. That blows your biased blanket statement right out of the water.

4. Family is an institution that worked for eons, it's because people found it to be the most stable approach in life.

Is that why? Think whatever you want, but it is clear that your beliefs are more harmful than any perceived "illegitimacy" could ever be.

I can't believe I have to give reasons on what is WRONG with a child being born illegitimate. Honestly, some of you people here are completely brainwashed by Hollywood movies.

Are you really blinded enough to think Americans get their opinions from Hollywood movies? It couldn't possibly be from my experience with single parents. It could not possibly come from the fact that I am raising a child who is not my biological child and who is one of the most intelligent, well-rounded children I know. Guess what, I am not on welfare, either.
