No, it is irrelevant. They were not treated with more respect when they were enslaved. Furthermore, I have seen no proof that what you claim is true. Did you have a civil rights movement where you are from? If so, when did it happen? From what I have read, the Arab slave trade has not stopped completely, whereas it has in the United States. Please do not misunderstand me. I do not defend slavery in any form, anywhere. It is a matter of shame for most of us that it even took place in the United States. I have to point out that I am from a city where slavery was not popular during the slave years and where it was abolished quite early on.
