Grump has the right to say whatever he wants about Rosie O'Donnell, true. But he or anyone else doesn't have the right to be protected from any negative blow-back or backlash to his ill-mannered comments. If Grump wants to tweet inflammatory opinions, no one's stopping him but he'd better not cry when someone then makes a naked statue of his sorry-looking ass.
Thank you. I get really irritated by anyone, left or right whom fail to understand the difference between legal and moral. If we value our ability to criticize any political or religious leader, then we also have to understand why Trump is dangerous, and not matter of law, but as a matter of position. It is bad enough he has said all the scapegoating bullshit he has the past year, but to dare suggest he is a victim himself is absurd. North Korea is what you end up with when politicians seek to silence dissent. Theocracies like Iran and Saudi Arabia are what you end up with when religion demands taboos.
Trump's language is a matter of position, not legality. Just because you have the right to staple your nuts to the wall does not make it a responsible choice. Those responding to it are within their rights to call him on his very dangerous and irresponsible tactics. Blasphemy of Trump is not the same as his scapegoating demagoguery. He deserves all the ridicule and scorn as a despot rightfully gets. If he doesn't want to be a target, then he shouldn't behave like one.
If Trump wants to shock people for ratings, he should have stuck to cable TV. In politics it isn't about shitting on people for shock value. In the civil west all parties involved should be about peaceful transfer of power, and while politics in the west does get messy, it should never get to the point of eroding that concept.
After all the vile shit he has said this past year, to ask me to feel one bit sorry for him is absurd. No I don't want him dead one bit, but I do want enough people blasting him verbally to not only keep him out of office, but to send a message to all politicians who might consider his tactics to garner a win at any level, that scapegoating demagoguery is unacceptable and dangerous.
Nobody should expect a society where we never offend anyone, but in politics you don't use his tactics, it is irresponsible.
