I feel shitty saying it, but if I was in the supermarket with kids, which I usually am because I have nieces, nephews and a stepson, and that happened, I would probably have left and called the cops. Chances are, she was dead within the first few stabs. There are an awful lot of ways to die by getting stabbed in the neck, arteries, airways and your spinal column don't leave many chances for survival.
That totally sucks, though. Unfortunately, Monsieur Crazy Person probably thought he was doing the right thing. Insanity is a scary thing.
