You do realize that there is a situation in the bible where a man rapes his half-sister and her brother kills him (killed his own half brother) in retaliation?

But, as is always the case with bible stories, it follows the archaic morals of middle eastern society. There's really nothing laudable over this. It just fits the general picture. As Lady said, damaged property, not protecting the actual person.
