This whole idea that kids need their biological parents, or just two guardians, or any specific guardians especially linked to them is simply an artifact of evolution, it's not necessarily the best way to bring up an intelligent human being in tomorrow's world.
Just because your imagination fails to conceptualize a society where children are taken care of in a much more diverse environment than a simple household doesn't mean it's necessarily bad.
