By all means....let's let them pour poison on the market. So what if some people die? Anything for corporate profits!!!!

People are a lot smarter than you seem to give them credit for. If a company is poisoning their products no one will buy them. If the large corporations refuse to stop, they will either go bankrupt or get another charity check from the government.

Sure.. I can have a pill prescribed to me and INSTANTLY know that it is poison the minute it touches my flesh. Everyone else is the same way. As soon as we all know it is poison, then the company would be forced...

So yes, I agree..people in America are very well versed in pharmaceutical knowledge and wells as prescription writting procedures.


Because, if you are wrong and most people in America dont know SHIT about pharmaceuticals then a corporations can easily kill tens of thousands in one blow. Of course, if Libertarianism was in charge of the country, then the Corporation could easily buy favorable press while they adjust their mixture ratios to kill less people, jack up their prices to pay for the difference, and go right back to profit making.

And how do yo ulike that... "NO one will buy them". Not a single person, not even one? So everyone in America is knowledgable about drugs and poision?

Honestly, its words like that that make Libertarianism look more like a faith, and less like reality minded politics.

One good way to hide bad news is to make it unintelligible. The company, I'm betting, got the word about the change in format and saw it as a golden opportunity to hide their problem by playing dumb. We have the tobacco industry as an example of how this was done before.

Oh but no no no... We should trust these Companies. Companies are always out for the good of society, and will self correct themselves if need be..

...the government, on the other hand, is the enemy here. How dare such an organization like the FDA exist! Its just a waste of tax money that I can shove in my pocket, and they also come poking their noses into my business. How dare they tell me when to clean up and how to clean up. This is MY business, not theirs!

If I want to sneak in a few hundred pounds of pencil shavings into my chicken sandwich meat to bump up my profit margin then that is my business, not theirs. I shouldnt be forced to reveal any ingredients, nor should I be forced to complay to FDA standards. Besides, its only currently 5% pencil shavings per sandwhich. We are thinking of trying to bump it up to 6%. That would yeild us a .5% increase in profits at our current volume, which could easily give me and the other board members each a ten grand bonus check. We need to get rid of the FDA. THEY are the problem, not us.

Posting an example of the FDA failing horribly is not an argument against abolishing the FDA.

Nor would I say that the corporations should be banned just because of what other corporations have done in the past. Besides, libertarians like Adrian do not care if the FDA is effective or not. They want them shut down regardless. There is no argument. I dont even know why libertarians even try to justify it with words. If I was a Libertarian I would just say "They FDA has got to go...less government...less government"
