Going back to George Wallace kinda underlines my point about the re-entry of violence into American politics.

As for the Shah and Carter, that isn't relevant; I'm talking American politics, not foreign policy.

I'm pretty sure I never said political violence never happened in America; indeed, worrying about it's "return" carries with it the assumption that it has happened in the past.

But if you wish to be obstreperous, that's your business, not mine.
