The whole point of those faiths is that God has revealed himself in certain persons and/or texts. Those persons/texts are about as extreme as any member of Westboro or ISIS could get. I'd say that doesn't reflect well on any follower, regardless of whether or not they are fully aware, or embrace, the persons and/or texts which are the foundation of their self-identity (and contradictory texts are easily explained by abrogation and other such methods).
