It is at least internally consistent, unlike the bible!
It is not however a scientific theory, since the defining characteristic of a scientific theory is falsifiability, which string theory is not (at least not yet!).
However, I would say that if you're interested and have a little basic physics knowledge (basic quantum mechanics, special relativity and tensors) get hold of this book.
Galileo was a man of science oppressed by the irrational and superstitious. Today, he is used by the irrational and superstitious who claim they are being oppressed by science - Mark Crislip
