In Portuguese, Merry Christmas is Feliz Natal. I worked with Brazilian cooks for years, and picked up a bit of the more important bits of language, so we would always say Merry Christmas in Portuguese to each other. One day, because of their accents, our kitchen manager thought they said "Please more towels." Towels are a hot commodity for cooks and are usually kept on lockdown by managers. The guy went and grabbed towels and had us all laughing. I told them they should tell him Merry Christmas more often.
