Welfare - are you for or against it and why?

It's not about how generous anyone is, it's about how much the state should be involved in supporting those at the bottom of the pile. Left wing tend to say they should get more involved whereas right wing tend to support businesses to create employment for people. But what about the issue of how much the govt should be involved in supporting those at the TOP of the pile. The right wing has been supporting business and giving them tax break insentives to move their operations overseas. I know what this thread is about..I am the one who started it... its about welfare in general..wether for the poor or for the corporate.

I assumed you were talking about social welfare in regards to the bottom of the pile. Apologies for that.

Thats okay man. Feel free to keep discussing that end of the spectrum. This is why I made the poll so generic, so that a wide variety of topics based on this theme could continue afterwards on this thread...not for the vote in the poll...you know, I tried to do my best to keep "left vs. right" suggestions out if the original question, which isnt easy today.
