Again, forgiveness =/= no consequences in this world.
You commit a violent crime, you do the time to insure societal safety, regardless of whether or not you are forgiven by anyone. We are called to forgive all ppl, even if they are not sorry for what they have done. that doesn't mean we release dangerous ppl back into the street where they can continue to hurt other innocent ppl.
You're trying to spin this into some sort of hypocrisy when it's not.
