Maybe not Islam the religion, but more likely because it's perceived to be oppressed by all things progressives hate. I remember reading something from Carlos the Jackal's 2003 book, “Revolutionary Islam” called on “all revolutionaries, including those of the left, even atheists,” to accept the leadership of Islamists such as Osama bin Laden in order to turn Iraq and Afghanistan into “graveyards of American imperialism.”
“Only a coalition of Marxists and Islamists can destroy the United States,” the communist revolutionary and convert to Islam wrote in his book.
Not to make this political, but I'm surprised the left didn't have a problem with Clinton accepting millions from Saudi Arabia where women can't even drive cars or go to the movies with men. Gay's are not allowed to come out of the closet and if they do, they risk getting punished with death.
As far as why Europe is letting in Muslim's in the millions and wondering why things are not going so great, you have to wonder what they were thinking. I'm talking about the leadership of those countries. In Germany it seems to be guilt, and a nihilistic and strangely narcissistic ideology which basically supports everything but their own culture, and thinks oppression is everywhere. So they are doing double time trying to screw themselves over to make up for past grievances. Cultural suicide, and basically the Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan for the EU.
I'm not sympathetic to Islam, but I am sympathetic to muslims.
There's a subtle but important difference.
You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.
