Why is religion being responsible for harming someone a bad motivation for wanting to stamp it out? Just because it may not be happening to you personally, the fact that it's so visibly harming people the world over should be more than sufficient justification for railing against irrational beliefs. So to ask the question, 'what did it ever do to you' actually has a very simple answer, you don't even need to say that the question is irrelevant. "I see the harm it does worldwide and it offends my sensibilities on a level that is virtually indescribable". Is that a good enough answer?
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?
