Much as I despise the GOP and Trump, what the hell does any of this have to do with them (or Obama and the Democrats, for that matter)? Can you really say you're surprised that brick-and-mortar retailers continue to lose ground in the digital age? Of course they do! I'm not happy about the jobs lost, but this is almost as predictable as a sunrise -- and about as political.
So? Why would you put up with it if you say you don't like it anymore than I do? "Predictable" yep it's been that way for 36 years and it won't change if we keep putting up with it.
It still remains that something has to replace the jobs that get cut and the jobs left have to provide a decent living standard. GOP wont invest in anything but tax breaks for the rich.
Same holding their breaths when big oil was forced to get led out of gas. Same bullshit with car companies when Nader said their products were unsafe, only to incorporate seat belts and air bags.
I get that times change, just like we've gone from rotary phones to cell phones. Just like we've gone from horses and buggies to cars. Just like we only had newspapers and snail mail but now have the internet. I have no problem with that kind of change.
But the GOP use that to create more part time jobs that don't keep up with the cost of living and DONT invest in workers or new technology or new training and love that desperation because it maintains their cheap labor market.
