I think this is relevant, The Hill reports (article from January 4th):
FBI never examined hacked DNC servers itself: report
The Hill Wrote Wrote:“The DNC had several meetings with representatives of the FBI’s Cyber Division and its Washington (D.C.) Field Office, the Department of Justice’s National Security Division, and U.S. Attorney’s Offices, and it responded to a variety of requests for cooperation, but the FBI never requested access to the DNC’s computer servers,” DNC deputy communications director Eric Walker told BuzzFeed in an email.
...
Instead, the official said, the bureau and other agencies have relied on analysis done by the third-party security firm CrowdStrike, which investigated the breach for the DNC.
CNN reports the following:
FBI: DNC rebuffed request to examine computer servers
Quote:The Democratic National Committee "rebuffed" a request from the FBI to examine its computer services after it was allegedly hacked by Russia during the 2016 election, a senior law enforcement official told CNN Thursday.
"The FBI repeatedly stressed to DNC officials the necessity of obtaining direct access to servers and data, only to be rebuffed until well after the initial compromise had been mitigated," a senior law enforcement official told CNN. "This left the FBI no choice but to rely upon a third party for information. These actions caused significant delays and inhibited the FBI from addressing the intrusion earlier."
So the FBI and others are relying on a third party that was paid by the DNC to investigate the hacks instead of doing their own (hopefully impartial) examination. Funny how when the FBI was investigating Hilary certain people on the forum (not you, Tiberius) were telling us about all of the "losers in the FBI" and now the FBI is this amazing thing that is perfect. The hypocrisy is stunning.
In short: The FBI has not done its own examination of the hacked DNC servers because the DNC didn't want the FBI to examine the servers.
Secondly, the password to John Posdesta's e-mail was literally the word "password". Why aren't people talking about this? Anybody who has the word "password" as their password gets no sympathy from me if they are hacked. John should have known better than to use the word "password" as his password. Something as simple as a dictionary attack would have been able to gain access to his account.
Assange seemed to describe himself as knowledgeable in cyber security in the interview with Hannity. Apologies if this is wrong. But it shouldn't take a genius to work out using the word "password" as your password is a bad idea.
