In some ways, otoh, at least our children aren't malnourished -and- british. 
Hunger is a global problem, the US isn't immune. It's a problem of political and economic will, nothing else. No breakthrough is required to ensure that everyone on earth, not just the children, everyone.... has a meal. We can solve this one, we simply choose not to. Food rots, and people starve for it. Ironically, farm workers (and their children, and particularly women in depressed farming communities) go hungry at greater rates than any other demographic. Work your head around that one, lol.
