Try to gather what you can from what you know it clearly says. It's clear teachings. If you are Atheist, what should interest you is not it's laws or symbolic rituals but what arguments it has for God's existence and particularly the oneness of God.
There are many verses in that respect. I would focus on those. They are clear, short, and eloquent arguments to the point. However, you will have to reflect beyond your initial impression. You will need to reflect in both a "critical not assuming it is true" as well "charitable give it the best possible meaning", with that balance, you will be guided.
These are good questions, the Quran explains and answers each of these eloquently.
