Not to get too conspiratorial, but it's a good idea to have a badge or some unifying element, if not a full on uniform to protect the protest from sabotage from a plant. It may sound dumb and paranoid, but it's a fact that the easiest way to discredit a protest is to change the narrative from the core message to "these people are breaking stuff", and all it takes is one person to poison the well.
