Obama had "no flexibility for discussion" because he was running for office again. Or has it escaped you that the majority of the people in Agent Orange's cabinet can be linked to Russian influence? Having spent 4 years in the US military, and worked for 30 years in defense, I am completely mystified as to why any alleged Republican would be rubbing elbows with Russia?
