What could God do to prove his existence? Everyone runs around saying, I can't see him, so sorry. If you asked a christian, they'd say the bible proves his existence. Forget that. What sort of things would he have to do to prove it. Show his face from the heavens? Flood the earth? End all suffering? What could make you change your mind?
its a very good question you ask. god couldnt simply prove a way he exists in a way that you would understand it. if he came to you in dreams and visions you wouldnt believe. if he healed you you wouldnt believe, etc. gods theories make sense like saying evil is out to kill steal and destroy you and your life. and that he wants good for you. faith is what god uses to communicate in his relationship with humans. without faith we couldnt see god and the bible says that. but i think its personal experiences and personal ("going to god") that will help you see him and seeing results from prayers that would help you see he exists. i couldnt give you my experiences if i could you wouldnt believe. its on experience that god shows himself.
I'm willing to bet that your experiences were interpreted by you as being from/by god, because you were previously primed to interpret them in such a way.
What sort of experience did you have that told you there was a god and would have done so, even if you had never ever heard of the concept of a being more powerful than humans?

You never thought of that Bella, did you?
if he showed himself you would be forced to believe and that would ruin the meaning of love and a relationship with god.
This, I strongly disagree.
Stinks of man-made excuse for the patent absence of a god.
Read your bible and you'll come across numerous examples of people to whom god allegedly showed himself and they still managed to have a relationship and "believe".
Read out of your bible and you'll come across even more examples of the same... e.g. Muhamad and Allah.

Not long ago, I came across the notion, in psychology, that if you understand the motivations behind a person's actions, you find that you cannot blame the person for acting the way she did. If you understand the person, you are compelled to forgive them.
God, as the omniscient entity that it is, should know and understand every single person's motivations... and thus find no blame on them... and automatically forgive them for everything.
Under this view, Hell would be a useless notion, as no one would be deserving of it.
Everyone automatically qualifies for heaven.
Meaning that hell is a man-made construct. God would not do such a thing for there would be no need for it.
God would understand those evil doers and would understand why they want nothing to do with him and would forgive them for it... and he would maybe want to show them the right path as soon as possible, in the best way possible.

ah... the glorification of faith.
First, people believe, then people believe some more and eventually people get to actually communicate with the almighty... even if it's all in their heads... they can't tell the difference... they believe they're communicating with it, so they are.
The most awesome part is that they can't even see it for what it is, even if we, on the outside of their heads, tell them.
It's not actually awesome at all... it's sad, really.
Sadder even because they pass on this belief to their children who then go through the same cycle and recycle... and cycle and recycle...
