Sometimes you need to learn to let shit go. Not every person who is religious is bad, stupid, ignorant or an asshole. Quit lumping religious persons in the same category. This shit is getting old and honestly, being a logical person, you should know better.
Yep.
The media didn't make a deal at all about them being Catholic. The article on the OP simply mentioned that 2 of the little kids who died were alter servers at a church called "Our Lady of Czestochowa." The word "Catholic" isn't even mentioned anywhere in that article. (Because, you know, when innocent people are killed, especially children, normal folks don't care what religion they are).
Jehanne is the one who posted this article specifically because the family was Catholic, and made it a headline in his thread title. He did so to take this story as an opportunity to say "Look at these Catholic people, they are so stupid. Being religious makes you stupid, and these Catholic people were SO stupid that they had a wood stove and died in a house fire. See? Religious people are dumb!"
Whatever he may deny or back track now, he certainly made his motives for this thread very clear when others asked him why he highlighted the victim's Catholicism. Of which I have copied and pasted on the Hall of Shame thread.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
