You have made all sorts of generalizations and have leveled accusations at religious people for. no. reason.
Sometimes you need to learn to let shit go. Not every person who is religious is bad, stupid, ignorant or an asshole. Quit lumping religious persons in the same category. This shit is getting old and honestly, being a logical person, you should know better.
Jehanne is the one who posted this article specifically because the family was Catholic, and made it a headline in his thread title. He did so to take this story as an opportunity to say "Look at these Catholic people, they are so stupid. Being religious makes you stupid, and these Catholic people were SO stupid that they had a wood stove and died in a house fire. See? Religious people are dumb!"
Based upon my OP, you have absolutely no right to make the inferences that you made, and having said that, what you are claiming is not at all accurate. It is a mere caricature of the position and/or points that I was making, and a false one at that, the perfect type of distortion that Donald Trump is so very good at. As I posted earlier, here is the SLPC hate map of the US:

Now, if you actually take the time, you'll see that there are a number of Catholic groups (especially, those on the East Coast) that have made the list. And, so, no, absolutely, positively not, I do not, and do not, blame the death of every Catholic as being due to that person's religious faith; absolutely, positively false! On the other hand, knowing what I do know about the far right religious nut jobs out there (such as these traditional Catholic groups), it is, shall we say, certainly "in character".
By the way, I can point-out other examples, and not just this one particular family, but I am not going to do that. You can easily find that information online for yourself; you only need to take the time to look!
