Roger that. You can show a person the origins of their belief. You can take a comparative look at all the texts from the oldest known to the most current, illustrating how the concept has changed as we ourselves have changed. Failing all of that you can explain in very simple terms that the foundation of the entire concept is flawed. In spite of it all, the devout are unwilling to budge. Not even an inch. They keep repeating the same claims, making the same arguments. It becomes tedious.
