We just had a new shipment of dead Syrian children delivered through Assad's Russian provided aircraft and Russian chemical warheads. The same chemical weapons Russia agreed to destroy. They didn't follow through (unsurprising). Clearly there never was an intent to follow through.
So why do I skip over the victims of a possible Russian false flag terrorist attack? Because I'd rather undercut the popular Russian narrative that the Russian people are perpetual "victims".
It is much better that their public image be shattered, that it be made obvious their strongmen are conniving thugs and that the suffering of Russia is but an intentional chess move by their oligarchs.
The more it falls apart, the more effort they have to sink into their own control and the less effort they can expend on harming my home country - which is really what powers my hatred of them. If your home is under siege, wouldn't you be unsympathetic to your enemy? Even if they were conned into harming you?
