In celebration of Easter, I'm back from the dead and ready to answer your questions. Praise the Sweet name of Jebus.
Do you ever wish you had a terminal cancer because that would put you sooner with Jesus? Like you knew you had few weeks until you get to the other world, which is so much better then this one, sou you could dedicate yourself to pass St. Peter by doing all the proscribed things, making the sacraments, giving all your money to the church - wouldn't that be a waltz to Jesus' arms? So do you ever pray for god to send you terminal cancer?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
