When you think that by the time the book of Genesis was written people used to believe that the earth was flat, that the sun circled around the earth, and that the blood of goats appeased angry gods. Yeah, surely back then people revelled in the theory of relativity and were meditating upon the space-time continuum.
If god were real you'd expect the bible to read something like "in the first femtosecond I decided to make the universe on Newtonian lines, in the second I looked at quantuum mechanics and decided to go that way, in the third I got bored and said'yerra fuck it, a perplexing mish-mash of both systems will do fine'".
What? Why would gawd need to decide anything at all. He is infallible. Whatever He decides becomes the law. Up could've been down depending on what side of the Bed he got up on.
