Alpha, your stance seems very narrow minded, when you look at the things a global perspective.
Go tell the parents of the dead that everything will be better if they'd just look at things from a global perspective.
Quote:But hey.... if you want to hang on to that tribal mentality... be my guest! It's literally in your genes!
If you recognize that it's in people's genes, what makes you think you can talk them out of it?

Try putting it in front of the parents of the dead children.
Seriously, if you made that point in an open letter to the parents of the dead children, don't you think most people would think you're a giant douchebag?
Some people you can't talk out of it, what does that have to do with shit?
That is still not license for you to be a insensitive tone def human to all the others who don't do those things.
YOU, "They use their religion to justify violence"
Sane people, "No shit"
You, "Get rid of them all"
Sane people, " Congrats, you have become the monster you claim to be fighting"
You are suffering selection bias and sample rate error.
There is a long term global species history involved here, your narrow focus on on point in human existence history is why you cannot see the flaw in that thinking.
NOBODY is saying not to criticize Islam or the Koran. Nobody is saying don't go after violent people.
STOP IGNORING THAT.
What we are saying is while going after bad claims and violent INDIVIDUALS don't lose your compassion or empathy by vilifying humans based on a label.
If you insist on living in a paranoid bubble, you are too stupid to understand that the very thing you say you hate in our species, our violent side, is the very thing you can potentially set a society up to do the very same thing.
I am a liberal, but most people here know I am not politically correct. But the one thing I don't do regardless of my bluntness, is use blanket solutions.
I would be thrilled for example, to have Malala living as my neighbor, even though I don't find her religion credible. I would be thrilled to have Muslim Keith Ellison our CONGRESSMAN as my neighbor, for the very same reason.
I also have TWO Hispanic families on both sides of me. In my 10 yrs living here, I have not had one lick of trouble from them, nor would I rat them out, even if I did know their status.
IT IS CALLED COMPASSION, and I will NOT sacrifice my empathy because some humans are violent because the good side of my species produces far more WHO ARE NOT.
My X wife is Japanese, her grandfather was in the Japanese military during WW2, do I still assume her guilt because of something she was not involved in?
Give it up Frank Burns, your fear is fear, based on xenophobia, having nothing to do with protecting western pluralism.
You are acting in the same manor of paranoid fear the closed states like Saudi Arabia and Iran sell to their populations.
