I had something relateable
I never used to be into feminine gay guys, I was actually an ignorant prick and was disgusted by it.
I got almost "catfished" this one time. Well not really, it was the guy in the photos, but he had somehow made himself look a lot more masculine than he actually was in person. I turned up to the date... he "acted" really gay, dressed kinda gay, and had fucking blue eyebrows... but something about him really attracted me, I don't know if it was his confidence or just that he was pretty objectively good looking, but I was so into it. Since then it's made me more open about dating more feminine guys (although I probably wouldn't date an outright drag queen even now) and exploring my own feminine side.
So yeah, I do think (to some extent anyway) your sexual preferences can change based on experience. I also used to be pretty much exclusively into typical blonde/nordic guys, until I started exploring my family history and culture more on my Southern European side, then I started being more interested in men from those kind of backgrounds.

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable." - Maryam Namazie
